Treatment To Fit Any Lifestyle
Invisalign® and Invisalign Teen®
Treatment and Care
Invisalign® is an orthodontic treatment option in which teeth are moved with custom fitted clear aligners. You will get a series of custom fitted aligners that you switch every 1-2 weeks. As you switch aligners, the teeth move into the desired position. For optimal results, the aligners should be worn 20-22 hours a day. The aligners should only be removed when eating and brushing.
Less noticeable; often others do not even know you are getting treatment
Ease of brushing and flossing
No food restrictions as aligners are removed while eating
Aligners are clear and removable
Less office visits throughout treatment compared to braces
What are the steps in getting started with Invisalign® or Invisalign Teen®?
Book a complimentary consultation
At your initial complimentary consultation, a series of photos will be taken and an examination will be performed to allow Drs. Hamanishi or Cho to see if you are a candidate for Invisalign® or Invisalign Teen®. Once you are determined to be a good candidate for Invisalign® or Invisalign Teen®, you can proceed to the next step. Call us to schedule an appointment (403) 452-4611
Records for your customized treatment plan
In addition to the initial photos, an x-ray, and digital scan will be taken to create your customized aligners. Drs. Hamanishi and Cho feel that keeping up new technology along with patient comfort/ease is very important and have invested in the newest Itero® Element™ Intraoral Scanner.
The old days of taking molds of your teeth with goopy impression material and waiting for five minutes for the material to set are gone! Once the digital scan is taken, we will submit your customized treatment prescription to Invisalign®.
Receive your customized aligners
Once your customized aligners arrive, your next appointment will be to bond the attachments (small tooth colored buttons used to help with certain movements) and to get the first several sets of aligners. We will monitor your progression with the aligners and provide further instructions on the frequency of changing the aligners. Each patient is unique and the frequency of changing aligners will be customized for your treatment. For best treatment outcomes, we ask that you wear your aligners for 20-22 hours a day. You will have periodic check ups with Drs. Hamanishi or Cho to evaluate your progression with your aligners.
Show off and maintain your new smile
Congratulations! You have finished with treatment and it’s time to keep smiling! Once you have finished with the aligners, you will be asked to wear retainers to maintain your new smile. We will review retainer options with you. One option that some patients prefer is the Vivera® retainer. Vivera® retainers are a specific type of clear retainers that are stronger than other leading clear retainer materials and can be beneficial to patients who grind their teeth.
